Stalked a pride of dandelion..

Down among the daisies, on a sunny day
I fell in love with summertime while watching petals sway
The sky was blue and cloudless, the grass was soft and green,
and the daisies came and took me into a daisy dream.
a sprinkling of pollen dust and much to my surprise,
I could look up at the daisies, for i was fairy-sized.
I danced beneath the flowers, all of two inches high,
I stalked a pride of dandelions, and caught one by and by.

Down among the daisies, dreaming in the sun,
My lover came and woke me, when the light was gone.
I told him what i dreamed of, he laughed and said 'how sweet',
and i looked down at the daisies, sitting quiet at my feet.
Down among the daisies, in my floral bed,
I wondered if my daisy-dream was only in my head
and as my eyes looked downwards, i saw what i had missed,
- a bunch of yellow petals, caught inside my fist.
